In joint development with a prominent military contractor, BluWāv developed a series hybrid system consisting of four in-wheel hub motors and
battery system. This series hybrid configuration represents the furthest advancement in technology. The vehicle can be powered by an on-vehicle or removable
generator set, fuel cell and hydrogen storage system, or a large plug-in hybrid compatible energy storage solution to provide a 40 mile or more range.
BluWāv's Series Hybrid drive maximizes the use of electric drive while reserving precious package space for all the remaining vehicle
components. BluWāv's experience in-wheel hub motors has led to the design and development of a complete electric drive and energy storage
system for a military vehicle prototype. A lower power version of the in-wheel system was created for a battery electric unmanned ground vehicle application.
